WILLIAM ALEXANDER PERCY'S COPY. First edition (per Macmillan's single published line upon copyright page). 37 pages. Hardcover: H 19.25cm x L 13.25cm. No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Blue cloth spine lightly scuffed at ends; spine's gilt lettering dulled but still easily discernable; blue paper boards rubbed; black stain at front board's lower fore-edge margin. Foxing to text block edges with soiling to top edge as well. Endpapers foxed/toned; varied foxing throughout. Personal bookplate of William Alexander Percy affixed upon front pastedown. With b/w frontispiece portrait of the author from a drawing by Marcel Maurel plus a folded facsimile of the poem "Truth" at page 17. Sara Teasdale won the 1918 Pulitzer Prize for her collection "Love Songs." Notable literary association to Greenville, Mississippi native William Alexander Percy (1885-1942) who was a Harvard-educated attorney and renowned poet best known for his 1941 autobiography "Lanterns on the Levee; Recollections of a Planter's Son."
