2nd edtion, 1882. Oblong 8vo. c. 5 x 3 inches, pp. 234 + 36 (blank), numerous diagrams, tables in text, pocket inside back cover, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, full morocco, limpback. Book condition - Good, contents clean, some foxing of preliminaries but practically none in text, minor pencil inscription on one of the blank pages, some page corners turned down, paper calendar for 1889 pasted inside front board, front flyleaf missing and small area of bottom section of front paste-down with surface loss, back pocket complete, ink stain on fore-edge which bleeds in to a few pages towards the back, but doesn't affect text ; binding is secure ; original, full red morocco with gilt title to front and blind, pressed decoration to front and back ; leather is in good condition, back has has an ink owner's inscription (' E. Head') and some some ink stains ; spine is complete but has rubbing at top and rubbing and fraying at base, hinges rubbed, front gilt is complete and fairly bright but the front also has ink stains, especially down the front edge. "Several years ago I compiled a Pocket-Book of Tables for my own use, to avoid having to make long calculations the moment they are wanted. To these I have added the results of upwards of twenty years experience amongst the manufacture and working of Boilers, the last ten years of this time being occupied as foreman boiler-maker in one of the most prominent London firms.
