Together, 4 bound volumes and 40 loose numbers. Profusion of illustrations, photographic reproductions, film and stage stills, designs, caricatures, and numerous contemporary advertisements. Folio, bound issues in buckram-backed boards; single issues in original pictorial wrappers by Adolf Hoffmeister, spines worn (possibly bound at some point), some chips and creasing along edges, still bright. Prague: Aventinum, 1925-31. Contains: Year 1925-26: Nos 1-10 - 1926-1927: Nos 1-20 - 1927-1928: Nos 1-20 - 1928-1929: Nos 1-39/40 - 1929-1930: Nos 1-39/40 - 1930-1931 Nos 1-39/40. Year 1 (1925-26) has 130 pages. Year 2 (1926-27) has 228 pages. Year 3 (1927-28) has 250 pages. These three years are all bound together as Volume I. Year 4 (1928-29) has 398 pages. Year 5 (1929-30) has 502 pages. Year 6 (1930-31) has 474 pages. The 4 bound volumes are tight and strong and in a very good condition. They are folio in size and measures around 19" x 13". The text and illustrations are also in very good condition, with some minor foxing and occasional minor wear in the 2000 + pages. The attractive bright covers are present as issued in all four volumes, though only the last two are the bright colorful ones. This is a heavy set, which weighs about 25 - 30 pounds. In addition to the above, there is a duplicate unbound set of the 1929 / 30 year is present with all 40 issues included, and in good condition as stated above. Nice run of the leading Czech review of art and culture of the period. It covered such topics as visual arts, film, music, and literature, with special reference to significant exhibitions and developments in the arts. The issues contain contributions by the major artists and authors such as Capek, Muzika, Eisner, Nezval, Smrz, Klicka, and some architects like Loos, LeCorbusier, Gocar and others.
