A rare survival, in the original unopened format, of a Nottingham-printed devotional chapbook produced in the early nineteenth-century for the 'flying stationers'; retailers who would rush through towns with the latest printed offerings. This chapbook presents three accounts, all Christian tales of redemption; of the lives of the alehouse poet Rhyming Dick, 'Richard Nancollas, of St. Austell' (1715-1802), 'Henry Hitchcock, (A Strolling Player).native of Lisbon' and 'A poor Man, named Bain.recommended to the Friend-in-Need Society, in February 1805'.
