Grey boards 20 x 25cm undamaged but dulled, shelfworn and sl. discoloured with four small black spots to the upper board. Parallel Eng/Afrik. This book was the property of artist Donald Madge whose entry features on p. 44. Madge's neat rubber stamp can be found on the upper board, on the ffep, and on p. 27. The front pastedown contains what might be Madge's signature. Attached to the ffep is an interesting undated newspaper article about an exhibition of Madge's that attracted the patronage of a number of dignataries including the Prime Minister John Vorster and his wife. The sellotape used to affix this article is very browned. The first eight pages have rather unsightly brown stains at the outer margin halfway up the page, extending irregularly about 1cm in from the edge, suggesting that some beverage may have been spilt on the closed book at some stage. These stains do not interfere with the text. The rest of the contents are unmarked and clean. Bookseller Inventory # 001581
