Bound in black leather boards with cut out window, red velvet underneath with three metal appliques. Five raised bands on spine. Blue silk end pages, bw frontispiece, 16 pages of text followed by 30 unpaginated pages of bw plates. Text in French. Attributed by Barbier to the Marquis de Migieu, with the collaboration of Father Ch. Boullemier for the explanation of the plates. Approval April 28, 1779, allowed to print April 30, 1779. Collection of medieval seals known as Gothic seals. VG- (age toning as expected with age, small water staining along bottom right corner of several pages. Blind stamp from art gallery on rear page.
