101 pp. 8 colour plates (3 fold-out) from originals by John Piper. 5 monochrome photographs of the 1948 Glyndebourne production by Anus McBean. Foreword by Benjamin Britten. Complete libretto by Ronald Duncan. Essays by Henry Boys, John Piper and Eric Crozier on the opera. Internally clean and sound. Green cloth covered boards with stamped gilt titles on front panel and backstrip. Tail corners and back panel head corner have very sl. bumps. Colour illustrated dustjacket is dustsoiled with chipping and folded tears to head edge of front panel and at head and tail of backstrip. Now protected by plastic bookwrap.
