LIMITED EDITION. 8vo. 9 x 5.75 inches. 55 pp. Bound in half cloth, gilt, over salmon boards with gilt title. Minor wear and sunning of extremities and a little spotting of fore edge and rear flyleaf; otherwise a very good clean copy. Signed by author below limited edition statement. Illustrated by frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Signed limited edition story by Alfred Edgar Coppard (1878-1957), born in Folkestone, who overcame the poverty of his upbringing and moved to Oxford as a clerk in 1907. In 1919, he gave up his paid employment to set up as a full time writer, his first short story collection being published by the Golden Cockerel Press in 1921.
