John Murray, London, 1821, volume XXV comprising numbers XLIX, April 1821 and L, July 1821; 8vo, pp [vi], 586; half contemporary calf, marbled sides, spine panelled gilt; some light rubbing in places, occasional slight foxing or other marking but overall in very good, firm and clean condition; simple episcopal bookplate with the initials T. L. C. on the front pastedown. . . . The periodicals offers essays and comment on politics and literature and reviews recently published books. These include a composite review of three books on the architecture of Normandy, a review of an account of travels in north Africa and in studying the course of the Niger and a 42pp review of Parry's "Journal of a Voyage for the Discovery of a North-West Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific". More reviews of Humboldt's continuing work are present as is a review of Staunton's "Narrative of the Chinese Embassy to the Khan of the Tourgouth Tartars, in the years 1712 . 1715 ." and more on the Cape of Good Hope.
