Dora Ridout Hood (1885-1974) was a pioneer Canadiana bookseller, operating Dora Hood's Book Room from 720 Spadina Avenue, Toronto, and later from 34 Ross Street, from 1928 until her retirement in 1954 (the business carried on until 1982). She dealt in new publications and antiquarian books, specializing in Canadiana and Americana, primarily by catalogue (including by appointment to the crown). Hood published her memoirs, THE SIDE DOOR, in 1958. An excellent Canadian historical association. Note: a heavy set, extra postage will be required. Bookseller Inventory # 45836
