A very good copy of an early complete edition of this book of philosophy, undated but advertising material at rear offers list of book for sale in 1872. No Dust Jacket (as issued?). Cover: green and black embossed cloth with gilt lettering and cartouche to front and spine; in very good condition for its age (over 140 years old); gilt bright; some rubbing and bumping to all edges commensurate with age and use, 1 cm split to top rear spine but overall in remarkably good condition for its age. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; no inscriptions or book plates; hinges beginning to crack but holding; all edges gilt (very bright); slight foxing on first few pages. xvi, 456 pp. plus 12 pp. advertising material.
