About this Item
Edinburgh: Adam and Charles Black, 1871 / Greenock Sanitary Committee, 1876. Reprint, 15 pages. Greenock, Scotland suffered from poor sanitary conditions throughout the 19th century - overcrowding, overpopulation, and poor housing made it terribly unhealthy for its residents. After several outbreaks of cholera and typhus and an outbreak of smallpox in 1873, the Greenock Sanitary Committee published this excerpt from Sir James Simpson s 1871 book "Anaesthesia, Hospitalism, Hermaphroditism." Original pamphlet in newer library binding. Inscribed on front endpaper. In near fine condition with no internal markings other than the inscription. Seller Inventory # N-PR1976H
