Bold etching showing convicts waiting to climb up in to the HMS York, a ship of the line of the British Royal Navy which served in the Napoleonic Wars, but which was eventually stripped of her guns & converted to a floating prison. Drawn and etched by E. W. Cooke (1811-1877). From 'Fifty Plates of Shipping and Craft'. Printed on India paper, laid on white stiff cream paper, very sharp impression, some faint toning caused by being framed. Image: 9 1/2 x 6 1/4"; with ample margins. Seller Inventory # 22376
