Illustrations include historical portraits as well as thirty-one photographs of singers and dancers by Robert Doisneau. Internally clean without marks or additions. Faint age toning at the extremities. Blind stamps from the library of the "California Palace of the Legion of Honor" on the title, frontispiece and final pages. Sound binding. Colour printed dustjacket is sunned along the spine and slightly age toned along the other edges. Slight dust soiling, shelf and edge wear with minor surface creasing along the head and tail edges of the front panel and paper wear at the head and foot of the spine.
