Published in 1863 by Crosby & Nichols. Paradise Lost. Hard cover, no dust jacket. See photos for condition. Leather (?) exterior of hardcover boards ripped/frayed at board corners and top/bottom of spine. Ink on boards fading at edges. Board corners curling in. Rip in pasted-down endpaper in gutter at front of book towards the bottom, feels a tad loose but overall holding together well. Things feels a tad loose at the back board as well, but no rip in endpaper (but binding thread visible in gutter). Very scant writing in light pencil on a few pages. Gilded edges of text block a bit tarnished and have some black line markings. Some pages have minor creasing on corners. Some pages have very minor spots/stains. Pages toned a bit.
