Original cloth, recased. Spine and covers rather faded, endpapers neatly reinforced. Inscribed on the front free endpaper, "A Birthday Present to Louisa F. Treweeke from S. Otway Wooldridge March 1853", and with the later book-label of D.S. Robertson; 8pp. of publisher's advertisements at front, dated July 1852. "This volume [billed as a 'new edition' on the title-page] was prepared for the press by my lamented sister, Mrs. H.N. Coleridge, and will have an additional interest to many readers as the last monument of her highly-gifted mind" (Derwent Coleridge). Louisa Frances Treweeke (1829-1871) married on 7 July 1853, at Breage, Cornwall, Henry Clelan, later Vicar of Eardisley, Herefordshire; her first cousin Samuel Otway Wooldridge (1814-1862) followed his father into the Royal Navy.
