About this Item

First printing of this wonderful Newbery Honor book. Pope wrote only two books, both of them wonderful. She was too busy teaching Shakespeare and Milton to write any more. Alas for those of us who love her books! This copy is clean, tight, bright, lovely; no previous owner name or marks, just the inscription from Pope on the free front endpaper. Inscribed, "with gratitude and affection," and signed "Libby," dated April 1974. Terrific copy. Bookseller Inventory # 95102101
