A translation from the Portugese by Charles Marriott with illustrations by John Austen. Edition limited to 250 copies of which this is number 84. Signed and numbered by the illustrator in ink. Printed by Spottiswood, Ballantyne and Company Limited, London, Colchester and Eton. Internally clean without marks, soiling or additions. Dust soiled head. Untrimmed fore and tail edges. Sewn and glued binding is sound and secure. Backstrip has perished and both paper covered boards are detached from the text block. Grey paper covered boards with pasted down title label on the front panel. Paper is soiled and stained with age toning at the extremities. Corners are bumped and split with paper wear and minor chipping. Beautiful art deco style illustrations and decorations make this edition worth rebinding. (.250 g.). Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
