Half leather boards with marble effect covers; inc. gilt decorative effects. The latter also feature along the spine (which is torn at the head and also generally chipped). Condition: the main issue is that the front board has separated from the book block (image). Plus a small section of the preliminary pages has also become detached (starting from ffep, inc. contents page etc as far as pp vi of the Life of the Author). The pages are moderately tanned with occasional spotting; more evident on the preliminary and final ones (see image of Contents Page). Front pastedown features a tipped in A Premium for Superior Merit sticker (image). Publisher: not specified but the contents page states: Glasgow: printed by Robert Malcolm, Stanhope Press Office, Tronsgate. pp. xx, 304/18 mo. All twelve books of Paradise Lost included.
