Ware's three historical novels of early Christianity in Palestine and Rome, presented in epistolary form, are here bound together in one volume. 112; 106; 116 pp. The Palmyra and Rome volumes with Chambers title pages dated 1839 & 1840. The Judea volume lacks the Chambers title page but includes the Chambers publisher's note leaf referring to the 1841 American publishing date. Bound in 1/3 polished brown leather and marble paper boards with rolled gilt ruling to spine bands and burgundy leather title label to spine lettered in gilt. Printed in double columns. At the top edge of an initial leaf of all three works are penned two prior owner names dated 1847 and 1945 respectively. The publisher's preface for Palmyra has considerable red pen underlining scattered through the several pages. A few lines of the first few pages of Palmyra with underlining. Otherwise unmarked and neat. Light shelf rubbing and scuffing to leather at extremities. Near VG. Seller Inventory # 50946
