Fine condition 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover inscribed by the photographer, Douglas Steakley, and by the author of the Foreward, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jane Smiley. Steakley's first free endpage inscription simply reads "To Gary-- With best wishes -- Douglas Steakley." Jane Smiley's lovely signature appears at the end of the Foreward. It is big and bold but smeared slightly and has left an impression on the opposite page when the book's pages were closed prematurely after the signing. The book is in As-New condition. The dust jacket is not price-clipped and is completely clean. It shows very light wear around the edges including a single 1/4" closed edge tear. A unique SIGNED 1st Edition of this beautiful coffee-table collection of photographs of California's stunning Monterey Peninsula. Synopsis: Pacific Light is a large format four color hardbound coffee table book of photography of the world famous Monterey Peninsula. Accompanying the photography are poems by Ric Masten, nationally known Big Sur poet. Additionally, the Foreword is written by Pulitzer prize winning novelist, Jane Simley.

About the Author: Douglas Steakley lives and photographs on the Monterey Peninsula. Steakley originally received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University in jewelry design. Several years ago he he turned his attention to photography for which he has received awards in local and international compeitions. His images have appeared in national publications, calendars, post cards and greeting cards. His exhibition prints are represented in several galleries and in numerous private collections. Pacific Light is Steakley's first book of photography.
