This undated book, with its woodblock portrait by Monteiro Filho, was probably published in the early '40s. It has the advantage of Documentacao Oral from the President's niece, sons, and friends (some of whom provided correspondence), as well as the archives of Itu', Piracicaba, and Santa Barbara. Fotografias Ineditas were provided by Renato Camargo. The original material compensates for a rather uneven, uncritical narrative by the Freud-influenced historian. 274 pages with plates; plus about 10 unnumbered pages prefatory matter; plus about 12 unnumbered pages O Autor e seus Livros, and [Indice Geral]. Covers show shelf-wear and discoloration; bookseller stamp on rfEP; text is strong, but browning to margins, and shows incipient foxing. Seller Inventory # 203424
