About this Item

A beautiful copy. The front cover just a bit scuffed with the color illustration still bright. One small wear spot near bottom of the illustration. Lettering on spine still bold and spine cloth unworn. Edgewear to the paper covering the boards, but it does not seriously detract from the attractiveness of cover. This wear most extensive at the corners. Back cover with more scuffing than the front cover has, but the back cover illustration is minimally affected and it is as bright as the front cover. Internally a very clean copy and the hinges are unbroken and the binding is square and tight. The wonderful Kate Greenaway illustrations cover many of the pages and they complement beautifully the text on other pages. Endpapers with decorated design. The only flaw internally is a short closed tear at the bottom blank margin of one page. This edition is undated but was produced after Routledge transferred the printing rights to Warne about 1903. This copy could be as earlly as that or possibly a bit later than 1910 so a circa 1910 date assigned. It is most definitely a vintage copy, and a very attractively preserved one.
