This is a bound volume of the sporting publication, "THE OUTING MAGAZINE" - Sport, Adventure, Travel Fiction. 1911; Outing Publishing Company; New York. Volume LVIII containing six issues, April to September 1911. This volume contains two baseball-related articles ("Baseball as the Players See It" and "What is 'Inside Baseball'?"), both of which are illustrated with photographs (including TY COBB, HONUS WAGNER, CHRISTY MATHEWSON, Frank Chance, Eddie Collins, Napoleon Lajoie, and more). The issues contain works of both fiction and non-fiction; there are also two poems. There are illustrations and photographs throughout. Decorative end papers. Other sports and recreation topics include tennis, hunting, fishing, running, sailing camping, canoeing, flying, swimming, motor boating, and much more. The original front and back covers are not included - each issue begins with a frontispiece followed by the first page of the issue with a masthead. Condition: Soiling/staining to the covers. The cloth over the spine has faded. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Page 449 has a 2" tear at the outer edge. Ex-library with a label affixed to the front pastedown, a library ID# written in pencil and an ink stamp on the title page, a date slip affixed to the rear pastedown, and a card sleeve affixed to the rear end paper. The primary condition with the pages is that there is a thin, light stain strip along the top edge throughout the volume.the stain is thicker at the front dozen or so pages and also appears at the outer edge.the last dozen or so pages also have a thin stain strip at the outer edge. The Brown Bear article and its author are both underlined in black ink on the contents page. Name/date written in pen on a front end paper. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
