1951. 355x250mm, xxv of introductory materials, and 96 plates with descriptions, bound in half-leather and cloth hardcover with raised bands, contrasting leather title overlays of the spine, and gilt lettering and accent on the spine and front cover. A very attractive copy, with some mottled wear to the fore-edge of the front and to a lesser extent, rear cloth boards, with additional, very minor wear to the inside tail edge of the covers. A very smart, well maintained binding has served well to preserve beautiful full page colour plates. Bookseller Inventory #

Book Description Georgian House, Melbourne, 1951. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Included. First Edition. Large quarto, xxviii pages plus 72 full-page colour plates, each with a leaf of descriptive text. Gilt-decorated quarter morocco and plain cloth, top edge gilt; a fine copy with the dustwrapper discoloured and weakened where it has been in contact with the leather (it is now stabilised on the underside), with a little loss to the head and foot of the spine. An Australiana Society publication; number 837 of 1000 copies for sale of the first three parts (bound as above, without their original wrappers) of a proposed series of 25 parts. Only one other part was published in this format (Part 4, in 1958); the whole series was eventually published as one volume in a reduced format in 1969.
