Front joint partially cracked but tight, a bit worn; otherwise, a very good copy. "Albrecht von Haller (1708-77) was one of the intellectual giants of the eighteenth century, and indeed, one of the most accomplished men of all time." (Heirs of Hippocrates, p.300). Haller's 'Opuscula pathologica' includes his post-mortem examinations on the heart, eye, reproductive organs, lungs, etc. "The first complete edition of Haller's 'De respiratione experimenta anatomica' is also included in this book. .It is the first investigation into the role that the intercostal muscles have in respiration."
