Mercury Book 16, 1939; Reprint edition. Digest format; 126 pages. No note on abridgement of text, but should be assumed. Originally published by Doubleday Doran in 1938. Basis for the 1948 film noir, Blond Ice. Scarce in any edition. Condition: Good: The spine is slightly rolled with some faint creasing and chipping on the ends. The front cover shows some scratching and edge chipping. The inside of the front cover shows an owner name stamp and handwritten name, place and date. The back cover shows some pinching, edge chipping and mild rubbing. The pages are toned, but are supple; NOTE: An owner name stamp appears periodically in the margins on some pages, NEVER obscuring the text. The page edges show slight toning, very slight dust darkening on the top edge, else the edges are clean. The book is tightly bound. This book will be placed in a new archival bag and shipped after receipt of payment in a reinforced padded mailer or a new box with a USPS tracking number. Seller Inventory # SC126195
