Review:

"I invested in The Official Guide to Success when I was starting a business and was scared to death most of the time. Mr. Hopkins excellent suggestions for enthusiasm, time management and motivation really helped me through the tough times. I recommend it to anyone who is trying to make their personal or business life more successful."

The Best "Guide to Success" Book I Have Read

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book. I read a lot of "success" books and this is the best one I have read. Some of these books provide vague principles that are nebulous at best, but Hopkins mixes ideals with practical advice, like list the 6 most important things to do the next day the night before.

Most books are "what" to do to succeed. This one is not just "what," but HOW. He has very specific, unobtrusive steps.

Along the lines of Tony Robbins, he discusses bad habits, why we do them, and how to replace them with a better habit. Unlike Robbins, he doesn't treat replacing your thoughts with more constructive ones as some sort of new "technology." It is simply something you do.

Some books cover some realms of life, like business. He covers all realms, having for instance a section on dealing with angry people. The book is sort of a "Dummies" guide to life in general.

It is short, and easy to read, and it would be a good gift for a success-minded person or one who is at such a turning-point in life where they need new strategies. I guess that is it--he gives specific, simple, strategies. You will likely find some chapters to be fluff, and others life-changing, so of course the life-changing ones are worth reading the book.

The most useful book out there!!

Bottom line, Hopkins was my first exposure to something called Goal Setting. (Yikes! almost 25 years ago) His book is concise and loaded with short rapid-fire comments and quick read chapters. Above all else...he gives REAL workable tools for REAL workable lives.
