Library rubber stamps of the "Public Works Dept. Library" and the "New Zealand Oceanographic Insitute D.S.I.R.". Card pocket (empty) on rear endpaper.; 63, [1] pages + 2 large colour folding charts of the North Sea + 1 folding b&w chart, transverse section of the North Sea. The first chart has several 2" tears along the folds and a couple of 3/8" chips. An offprint from the Minutes of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Vol. XX. Session 1860-61. Bound with four other similar offprints from the same institution, mostly on railways, including Indian railways. These are seperately printed offprints, not disbound extracts. They are bound together in one volume, with the spine titled "Miscellaneous Pamphlets". Half-leather binding. Page dimensions: 213 x 128mm. The other works bound in this volume are as follows: (2) "A Mode of Computation, whereby Flood Water may be Excluded from a set of Gaugings" by James Leslie; edited by Charles Manby. (Excerpt Minutes from Vol. X, Session 1850-51). 8 pages. (3) "Description of the Landore Viaduct on the Line of the South Wales Railway" by Lavington Evans Fletcher, edited by Charles Manby.
