Tan paper-covered boards with black lettering and cover illustration of a Nightingale, brown leather spine. Heavy wear to all edges. Paper boards show chipping to all edges, corners bumped, heavy general wear and scuffing, leather spine is worn, top edge torn. Paper has split at gutter inside both covers. Endpapers discolored, previous owner signature to front endpaper dated 1863. Text is overall clean and bright, but does show some discoloration and spotting throughout.
