This book is straight and tight, pages yellowed, but no marks found. The jacket shows fraying, some tears, a couple of small chips and is now in protective cover. Howard Pease had his first short story published in 1921. He is most well-known for his books featuring the adventures of a young Tod Moran. Pease tried to write more realistic books for children especially young boys who were not often represented in children?s novels. He also had a depth of unrecognized social commentary, and his novels hold up well in the present day.
