SECOND EDITION. 12mo., [xii], 410 p. VG-. Brown cloth, blind-stamped boards are rubbed w/ some very minimal fraying/chipping to spine head and tail and joint. Binding is tight. Front hinge cracked, but not separated. Previous owner's signature to fep, along w/ previous bookseller's embossed stamp. A different owner's signature to title page, which has stained verso of half-title and dedication page. All pages are clean and unmarked. This little volume contains Bigelow's (1787-1879) famous Discourse on Self-limited Diseases, first published in 1835. Other papers by this famous botanist and physician included in the above work cover the history and use of tobacco, medical education, coffee and tea, the early history of medicine, the United States pharmacopoeia, etc. Bookseller Inventory # 000394

I was previously established as The Book Merchants, the Philadelphia's Riverside Book Fair and 30th Street Station Book Fair. In 1991 I purchased the stock of Samuel Kleinman's legendary Schuylkill Book and Curio Shop of 4207 Lancaster Ave., Phila. PA.
