Title: Der Mythus von Blut und Rasse.
Publisher: Wien: Harand o. J. ()
Publication Date: 1936
Book Description R. Harand, Wien, 1936 First Edition. Wraps., 1936. 8vo. pp 79. Original publisher's black and red covers, lettered white. Text in German. An antiracist rejection of Nazi Germany. On the title page, in blue ink, a RFSS SD head office library of banned books stamp, dated 1939. In 1936 all politically undesirable written material from the entire country was sent to a newly created academic central library in Berlin run by the Gestapo. Also stamped onto the title page and front cover, in mauve ink, the stamp of Dr. E. Erhard Schoch. Erhard Otto Schoch was a doctor for many years to Prince Ludwig Ferdinand of Bavaria, and his wife, Princess Maria de la Paz (Ludwig Ferdinand was a cousin of King Ludwig II of Bavaria). Both Prince Ludwig Ferdinand and Schoch deeply rejected Germany's national socialism. Schoch has also written on the title page that the book was in the Gestapo's banned book collection. A few pages carelessly opened but with no loss of text (half of the text uncut). Slight rubbing and slight creasing at spine and top corner, otherwise sound, clean, very good. An attractive copy.
