Book Description London: Goulding, D'Almaine, Potter and Co, London. Contemp Qtr Roan/paper Bds. Book Condition: Very Good Internally. 7th revised and Corrected By J Jousse. 12mo. Contemp Qtr Roan/paper Bds. Very Good Internally. 7th revised and Corrected By J Jousse. 12mo. Externally the binding is in poor condition; the upper cover is almost detached, there are markings where the hinges have been strengthened, half the leather on the spine has vanished and the rest is severely chafed and worn. The book is notable for the engraved plates which attempt to show in a kindly humorous pictogrammic manner the theories of notation and time: for example, there is a tree whose leaves are the grace notes and whose fruits are other notes; triple time is illustrated by twigs and branches. A charming educational book. Bookseller Inventory # 12205
