Textured tan card cover with black titling on front, black and white photograph of Sir Harry Oakes precedes title page, illustrated with occasional black and white photographs in text, 481 pages. Cover has edge wear and shelf wear, multiple creases which extend to first and last few pages, back cover and last end paper detached, the remainder of spine is tight, ink name on front cover has been obscured with black felt pen, text block edges slightly darkened, first ten pages or so show a damp stain at centre, several pages near centre of book have damp stain near leading edge, staples at back of book show some rust from dampness, with the exception of pages previously mentioned text is clean.
