"This 5.0 x 7.625 inch, 188 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the first edition of this title in 1942 but not the first imprint. This copy is in very good copndition with the blue cloth covers with blind-stamped titling and design on the front panel and silver lettering and design on the spine. The covers show just a touch of corner wear but with a stain to the bottom edges of the cover that show about one-half inch up from the bottom edge. This stain does not show to the interior text pages. The text pages show two inked previous owner's names handwritten in ink on the ffep but beyond that the text pages are in near fine condition with just a touch of age-toning to the war-time paper. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with definite edge-wear showing and especially wear at the spine where there are several chips and two half-inch pieces missing. The jacket is protected with a Brodart cover. This copy shows a 1942 date on the title page in Roman numerals but NO additional information on the copyright page - - with the statement "Published on the Same Day in the Dominion of Canada by the MacMillian Company of Canada Limited." This copy has the period removed on page 112 line 11 between the two words "talk" and "thia." The jacket has the price unclipped at $2.00, and on the rear jacket panel the statement that "The Men in the Services Need Books!" and the recommendation that the book be sent to service members. 188 pages.".
