Bookplate on inside cover says presented to Peabody Institute by George Peabody. Volume 53 in a long series of this journal, but what an important year for the history of the United States,which was still composed of British colonies when this volume came out in London. At least three articles with content on the revolutionary events in America according to the table of contents. Also an article titled "Americans against Liberty." A large volume of diverse content. Begins with several pages of "Gray's Poems." Square and tight binding that has old blue-gray paper covering the original binding which appears to be leather spine with marbled paper over boards. Unable to determine condition of the original binding as the paper covering is set in place by being glued to inside covers. Old circa 19th century paper library labels on spine.
