First American edition, undated but 1929. 5" x 7 3/4", 277 page hardcover bound in red cloth with gold spine lettering. A Near Fine copy in a Good dust jacket. The book's overs are bright and clean. The gold lettering is sharp. Minor tanning to the endpapers. Former owner's small name label is affixed to the upper edge of the front endpaper. The interior is otherwise fine. The dust jacket has a 3 1/2" closed tear on the front panel. Frays to the jacket's corners and along the head and heel of its spine. Dust soiling to the spine and panels. Seller Inventory # 83693

A Very Good copy. Small bumps and rubs to the corners. Lightly rubbed spine tips. Mild dusting to the covers. The pages are slightly tanned but not brittle. Cloth Bound Boards. Condition: Good+. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 1929 first edition. Size 12mo, 7.5" tall, 277 pages plus 8 page publisher's catalogue at the rear. Green cloth covered boards with large titles blind stamped to the front cover and gilt titles to the spine, rough trimmed page edges. Condition good plus, spine is faded, corners spine ends and hinges are a little rubbed, spotting to the rough trimmed page block, some on the first and last few pages and the odd spot creeping on to the margins of a few of the pages here and there. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good-. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First American Edition. This is the American edition published by E. P. Dutton but with British sheets. Published circa 1929. The dust jacket is protected by a Brodart mylar cover and is not clipped. Not an ex-library copy. No remainder marks. No names or marks in the text. Most books shipped within 24 hours. All books mailed with Delivery Confirmation. The jacket has a piece (approx. 1 1/2 x 3/4") lacking at the top of the rear cover extending to the spine panel. The jacket has other less serious chipping and creasing as well as open and closed tears. The book's top edge is bit dirty and the top and fore edges have scattered foxing. Scattered handling stains on the first and last few pages, The contents are clean and the book is tight. Very good - condition in good dust jacket. Unlike the British edition, this American edition contains no advertisements except on the interior jacket flaps. Author's first book and quite scarce, especially in dust jacket.
