Size of the brass locket: 1 in. x 1 in. x 1/8 in. (thick). A miniature, book-shaped brass locket with the outer covers showing a recessed design to suggest a gilt-tooled book cover, with a central, blank oval, surrounded by swirling floral & foliage forms, the plain spine shows three raised bands, with a tiny loop on the top edge, and a small brass clasp closure attached to the back cover; the interior features an open brass frame that forms the book "edges", and two, small, brass frames which hold four small, sepia-toned, reduced size photographic prints of European rulers. 1. Napoleon III 2. Victoria & Albert 3. Empress Eugenie 4. Unidentified woman's portrait. The surface of Victoria & Albert portrait show some small pin-prick type holes in the margins.
