About this title

Synopsis:

The first in a series of SLK titles written with the full co-operation of Mercedes-Benz, this detailed book reveals the full history of the first generation 'Sportlich, Leicht und Kurz' - the SLK. Starting with an introduction to, and history of, the Mercedes-Benz marque, this book shows the SLK concept cars, and provides full coverage of all the SLK R170 production models and the optional extras that were sold with them. Also included are comprehensive appendices describing year-by-year changes, engine specifications, standard colours, trim options and production numbers.

About the Author:

Born in Coventry, once the heart of the British motor industry, Brian Long has a passion for vintage and sporting machinery. A trained mechanical engineer and a long-term owner of both the MX-5 and rotary Mazdas, he has had a strong connection with Mazda products for well over a decade. Brian now lives just outside Tokyo, and spends much of his free time with Thoroughbred horses.
