20 volume set, bound in green leather spine with cloth on boards, Overall condition Good to Very Good. Foxing on pages generally in the first few and last few pages of each volume. Spines have gold stamped decoration. The set is actually the original 40 volumes bound in 20, with a steel plate frontispiece for each volume, 2 written volumes per bound volume. The plates in the front of each bound volume show foxing both inside and outside the plate. Some volumes have chipping and wear to the top and bottom of the spine leather. Former Owners' paste down label for two former owners on the Endpaper and ffep of every volume. One of them was a well-known lawyer and traveler from Lexington, Kentucky, and the other was a well-known lawyer and board member of the Cincinnati Art Museum. A well-known memoir of this high-profile courtier of both Louis XIII and Louis XIV tha was not allowed to be released until the 1820s. Seller Inventory # TW210107-1
