With an interesting Inscription on blank opposite titlepage, signed (twice) by Reuben Hecht, author of one of the papers in this volume [see pp. 203-Reuben R. Hecht (1909 – 1993) was an Israeli industrialist and founder of the Hecht Museum at Haifa University. Hecht was also a principal aide to Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin at the Camp David peace talks. Hecht was a co-founder of Haifa University, where he endowed a foundation, "The Reuben Hecht Chair of Zionism," as well as the major museum which bears his name. He was awarded the Israel Prize -- the highest honor from the State of Israel -- in 1988. His inscription in this volume (in German) is to a fellow member of the Zionist student organization Kadimah -- (abolished by the Nazis in 1938). The KJV was an umbrella organization of Jewish student organizations during the German Reich.
