Hardcover, no dustjacket, scarce first printing of this classic of chess literature by this important Austro-Hungarian chess player, 211 pages plus 2 pages of publisher's ads, book has a moderate cock to the spine and is slightly sunned on the spine although the gold spine title is still bright, the former owner's name is present on the first blank end-paper which, along with the rear end-paper. is also slightly tanned, there are two brief, neatly written ink corrections made by the former owner: on page 3 the "K" in "Q-K 5 ch." has been changed to "R" and an addition of "Algin Counter Gambit" has been made to the index, again, this has been done very neatly and in the proper alphabetical place.
