Quarto, 27 leaves each hand-colored. An 1868 facsimile, this first of any Blake work, of The Marriage of Heaven and Hell. Apparently one of 150 copies published. The leaves are on thick paper similar to that used on the original, notoriously these copies have moderate to heavy foxing. Period quarter cloth with green morocco and gilt titles to spine. The book leaves are bound but have detached from both the front and rear boards and are now laid in to the binding. Rubbing to the spine. Foxing as usual to leaves, generally light, though some leaves with heavier foxing. Most foxing to the margins and versos. A most uncommon early facsimile of one of Blake's most famous works.
