A mix of styles, both contemporary for the 1940?s and traditional. A couple of marks on the cover and a little edge wear as pictured. Slight foxing to end papers, otherwise lovely and clean inside with charming illustrations. Many of the stories are told to a child by her large menagerie of soft toys. Margaret Tarrant was an Edwardian illustrator, who initially enjoyed success for her illustrations for the Water Babies, she also designed cards and is best known for her whimsical pictures of fairies and animals.
