Folded linen-backed map showing roads, parks, commons, footpaths, buildings, railways, etcetera, to the north & west of London. With hard covers bound in red cloth, black titling. Includes brief description of the methods of information gathering. The map itself is 24¼" by 34" (62cm by 40.2cm), pieced into 21 panels, showing from Hampstead & Hampstead Green in the south, Chingford Hall in the east, Canon's Park in the west and Beech Hill Park/Hadley Common in the north; scale of 2 inches to the mile; printed in black & three colors. This is the second enlarged edition, the first having been offered in 1891. The map is in very good condition, unmarked but lightly tanned; the paper linings of the case are quite tanned and mostly gone at the inner hinge, not affecting the strength; the covers show some edgewear, fraying, and spotting.
