Pamphlet, printed in brown on white vellum and cream cover stock. [8] pp. Decorated covers. 21.5 x 13 cm. Performed November 6-7, 10-14, 1981. Includes lists of the cast and musicians and Mack Owens' "Director's note." Stoppard's 2-page "Author's note" provides his own fascinatng account of the sources of the two plays. The remaining three pages include "About the playwright" and lists of the the production staff, crew, and department faculty and staff. Among the faculty is Paul Gregory and no slight figure in mid-century theatre. "Hamlet" derives from Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigation. "Cahoot's" Macbeth is dedicated to the Czechoslovakian playwright Pavel Kohout, who had been banned from working during the Soviet invasion after Alexander Dubcek's "Prague Spring," in1968. Vanishingly rare. OCLC locates no copies, but the Ransom Center, University of Texas, Austin, has one in its large Stoppard collection, and San Diego State University probably has one, as well. Good, used copy, with some browning on the top and front edges of the cover and some minor silverfish damage on the cover. **Free domestic shipping with direct order.
