pp12 Sheet music, large folio in illustrated paper wrappers. By Daniel Godfrey (1831-1903), bandmaster of the Grenadier Guards, who was best known for the 'Guards Waltz' composed in 1863 for a ball given by the officers for the Prince and Princess of Wales on their marriage. This waltz along with his 'Mabel' and 'Hilda' waltzes became popular favourites of the time. He was decorated by Queen Victoria with her Jubilee medal in 1887. This copy of 'Mabel' is very good, crisp and complete with a bright cover illustration, worn along the spine, the stab sewn binding has lost its thread.
