Not dated in book but publisher, Stanley Paul, issued The International Library between 1922 and 1928 when it went bankrupt. This was the 8th title issued. 423 pages. Unclipped dustwrapper is complete apart from small losses to top/bottom of spine and corners. Any tears have been repaired. It is slighty grubby especially to rear. Grey blue book covers are floral embossed to front and spine and are in very condition. Book is tight. Pages are bright, clean and unmarked. Owner name on front endpaper. Marie-Joseph "Eugène" Sue, 26 January 1804 - 3 August 1857, was a French novelist. He was one of several authors who popularised the genre of the serial novel in France with his very popular and widely imitated The Mysteries of Paris, which was published in a newspaper from 1842 to 1843.
