Ballantyne, author of "Three Little Kittens") 23pp, 8 rather gruesome colour plates by by the author, depicting the demise of the grey goose, heavy foxing throughout, the plates are less affected, ink signature of previous owner to reverse of frontispiece plate, pale yellow endpapers, original textured bue cloth, blind-stamped borders front and back, gilt lettering and illustration to front cover, edges and corners rather rubbed and worn. Red embossed cloth with gilt title and vignette to front. Eight colour plates. Contains music accompanied by the verse and a short story. Spine and corners worn. Damp stain to lower edge of front cover (4.5 x 1") affects the lower edges of the front endpapers and first 12 pages (including 3 plates - margins only, pictures not affected). Previous owner's name and address in ink to front endpaper. Some light foxing and fingering, a small closed tear and light creasing to front endpaper. Not as bad as it sounds, still a nice copy.
